God is our refuge and strength. Going to Church is an important part of seeking and becoming one with God. We experience this every Sunday at Liturgy. Whether you're a current member of our Church, or if you've never attendended a service, we hope you will join us in seeking God's refuge and strength! Service starts at 10:30am.

When you said to the Myrrh-bearers, "Rejoice!", O Christ our God, You ended, by Your Resurrection, the lament of Eve, the first mother. And, You commanded Your Apostles to proclaim, "The Savior has risen from the grave." A blessed Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women and a Happy and Blessed Mother's Day to all of the Mothers out there!

A blessed and Holy Good Friday to you all! We want to thank all of those who helped decorate, carry, and then clean up the tomb! You all did a splendid job! On Holy Friday evening we remember Christ's descent into Hades during which the Gospel of repentance and reconciliation with God is shared with those who died before Christ's saving dispensation in the flesh. Death is about to be conquered and faithfulness rewarded.

A blessed and Holy Thursday to you all! This evening we commemorate the undeserved suffering of Jesus Christ, endured for our sake, so that we might be reconciled anew to God our Father. The Gospel readings witness for us the betrayal and arrest of Jesus, his trial and conviction, and finally his torture, crucifixion and death at the hands of a sinful humanity. This evening's service also includes the procession representing Christ carrying His own cross, and ends when we see before us the King of Glory crucified.

We've had a great weekend here at St. George! After we celebrated Liturgy on Lazarus Saturday, we made palm crosses, decorated the icon and church for Palm Sunday (which we celebrated this morning), and held our tiniest palm cross making contest. This evening we held the first Bridegroom Service, marking the beginning of Holy Week! Stay tuned, we will post up a schedule of all of our Holy Week services. Whether you're Orthodox or not, we highly encourage to come experience any of our services! A blessed Holy Week to you all!

Where will you be this morning? If you've not been to Church in a while, today is the perfect Sunday to return. Today is the Sunday of the Prodical Son. This parable forms an exact icon of repentance at its different stages. Sin is exile, enslavement to strangers, hunger. Repentance is the return from exile to our true home; it is to receive back our inheritance and freedom in the Father’s house. This theme of repentance, and the focus on the parable of the Prodigal Son leads Orthodox Christians to contemplate the necessity of repentance in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Today's photos are of the prosphora, our Church's communion bread that is made freshly for our Sunday Divine Liturgy Service.

Today we celebrated the Presentation of Christ to the Temple at our sister parish, Holy Spirit. The Presentation is one of the 12 Major feast days of the Church.
